Spare parts and Materials Recycling Under the prerequisite of ensuring spare part and material quality and vessel operation security, the company works together with vessel management unit to proactively recycle the used spare parts and materials to make full use of the recycling value of resources and reduce quantity of usage of raw materials. To further save the energy and increase the spare part recycling rate, the company sets the objective of over 60.0% of the recycling rate for the renewed main engine supercharger bearing and oil pump in 2008 on the basis of the total order quantity of 78 sets of main engine supercharger bearing (among which 22 sets are renewed parts) and 53 oil pumps (among which 22 sets are renewed parts), and the renewed part usage rate of 28.20% and 29.30% respectively in 2007. Through analysis of the reasons for low usage rate of spare parts in terms of the four aspects of personnel, management, materials and environment, the company works out improvement measures as per the main reasons, clearly define the objectives and responsibilities to carry them out one by one. By the end of 2008, the usage rate of renewed vessel bearing and oil pump of the company was 77.27% and 80.95% respectively, exceeding the objective of 60.0% set at the beginning of the year and increasing by 49.97% and 51.65% over 2007.
